The Social Program at the 2008 ACSMS will provide delegates with a unique opportunity to network with other Sports Medicine Professionals while soaking up the latest sports medicine at a Tropical Oasis. In fact, the conference program has been designed so that delegates can maximise their leisure opportunites on the beach, in the pool, at the marina, on the Great Barrier Reef - or at the bar. The Welcome Reception will be held on the Wednesday night followed by the Poster Session on Thursday afternoon. The highlight of the social program will be the Conference Dinner to be held on the Saturday evening.

Welcome Reception - Wednesday 15 October

In 2008 the Welcome Reception is being held by the Main Pool on Hamilton Island. Drinks and canapés will be served whilst delegates have the opportunity to meet with other delegates, speakers and exhibitors.

One ticket is included with each registration, accompanying guests and partners tickets may be purchased separately for $60 GST Inc each.

Poster Session - Thursday 16 October

The poster session will be a stand alone session at the conference, with discussion fueled by a complimentary drinks service. Senior members of SMA will provide feedback to individual researchers and discuss their research. Further, all poster abstracts accepted are published in the December supplement of the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport and will have the chance to share in one of the four poster awards on offer, each valued at $500.

Australian Sports Medicine Federation Fellows Dinner - Thursday 16 October

The Australian Sports Medicine Federation Fellows Dinner will be held on the Thursday night following the Poster Session. The Fellows dinner will be a dinner on the dock held on the Barge Pier overlooking the Hamilton Island Marina.

NB The Fellows Dinner is only open to Australian Sports Medicine Federation Fellows and their partners or guests.
NNB Ticket includes food and entertainment only - drinks to be purchased separately. Tickets must be purchased for all those attending. Tickets cost $60 GST Inc each.

Conference Dinner - Saturday 18 October

The premier social event of 2008 ACSMS promises to be a memorable evening. This years Conference Dinner will be held in the Bougainvillaea Marquee on the shores of Catseye Beach where you will enjoy local entertainment, dancing and fine food.
