JSAMS The Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, published by Sports medicine Australia, is the major refereed research publication on sport science and medicine in Australia. The Journal provides high quality, original research papers to keep members and subscribers informed of developments in sports science and medicine. Produced for SMA six times a year by Elsevier Australia, it reflects SMA’s commitment to encouraging world-class research within the industry, and its commitment to the continuing education of its members.

Personalities

The Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport has a dedicated team working behind the scenes to produce a quality publication. This team includes the Editor, Assistant Editor (Clinical), Assistant Editor (Science), Associate Editors, members of the Editorial Board, Production Manager and Subscription Manager.

Editor-in-Chief Professor Caroline Finch

Professor Caroline Finch (PhD), Professor Human Movement at the University of Ballarat, has a background in non-communicable diseases epidemiology, biostatistics and clinical trials.

Prof Finch was the inaugural chair of the three national committees responsible for sports safety and public health policy relating to sport: the National SportSafe Committee established by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care and the Australian Sports Commission to advise on national sports safety policy; the Australian Sports injury Data Working Party which developed guidelines for sports injury data collections; and the Public Health Committee of Sports Medicine Australia which is moving sports medicine activities toward more of a public health focus. She is also an advisor to many government departments and other health agencies.
